Leeds-based group Venus Grrrls have all had negative encounters with toxic men, and it was these experiences that catalyzed into their latest single “Hex”. About the song, vocalist GK has said;
“”Hex” is an ode to womenkind, touching on the universal experience of harassment. In the landscape of Hex, there are consequences for such behaviour, and generates a reality where we take the power back for ourselves. We are scared, and we are frustrated with the tale as old as time; we all have a story when we shouldn’t.“
An perfectly timed for Halloween, the band has released a supernatural-leaning revenge fantasy video for the track. Opening with the band passing out and waking up in a red and black-lit, eerie house, they soon find themselves stalked by a masked, male figure. Soon the tables turn though, and the band come together The Craft-style and make the masked predator regret ever harassing them.
