On their spiky new post-punk single “Rug Busters”, seven-piece Amsterdam based band Personal Trainer list off various types of people and personality traits, with the answer being if you match one of these descriptions – DANCE.
So of course, the video finds the youthful band performing a fully-choreographed, endlessly amusing dance shot in one take. While clearly not professional dancers, that is part of the charm of the band, as a funky bass rhythm and squirrelly guitars keep the song moving punchy. As the chorus hits with layered harmonies before going into a “Beat It”-esque riff, you’ll find yourself wanting to dance around to the song with the band members.
