FXRLY – Revolution Music Video Review

Beginning as a band, FXRLY (pronounced ‘Farley’) evolved into a solo project for Dylan Frederick. Taking inspiration from modern punk and pop punk artists, FXRLY creates his own brand of electronic-tinged punk rock that pushes through with pop hooks and power. Recent single “Revolution” is a perfect example of this, with the charging guitar riffs, politically-inspired lyrics that call to mind Green Day‘s modern output (“It was a prophecy, now our philosophy, across the human race. Little boy blue, meet your maker!”).

And the music video that accompanies the track is a perfect fit for its lyrical content and musical style. Animated like a Banksy wall art come to life, the video stamps in the lyrics while also broadcasting FXRLY‘s electrifying performance on a brick wall. Images of raining bombs, protesting crowds and the Grim Reaper come through in time to the song’s beat.

It’s one of many great songs on his album Winter Blue, and a video that should be played wherever punks and protests roam. Watch it above, and stream the track here.
