Sure you may have singing talent, but can you sing while also being a werewolf?
On rock artist Cayo Coco‘s (real name Lumen Loraine) latest single “Haunt”, a driving, blistering candy-sweet bop, the singer finds himself questioning the universe with an uplifting verve;
“I felt myself being stubborn on this track. I question The Universe, ruminating in the narrowness of the puny ego mind. But as the song forges on I feel myself breaking out of that cage and experiencing revelations of oneness (I’m the trees, I’m the moon, and so is everyone else). To me the song is recognition that I can finally give up whatever views I was clinging to in an attempt to make sense of my life.”
While the song’s surfy guitars and loose, pop rock vocals may make you want to jump out of your seat and dance, for the track’s quirky, b-movie styled video, it inspires a lot of other actions from the wild cast. As various eccentric performers attempt to peddle their talents to a shadowy agent in a smokey lounge bar, Coco takes the stage to perform “Haunt”, and suddenly turns into a werewolf as the moonlight shines down on him. At first entrancing the talent scout, the transformation soon raises the blood lust of all the other weirdos in the room, leading to Coco running for his life.
Released just in time for Halloween season, the video is a great blend of humor, horror and a deeper message it’s up to you to decipher. Watch the video above and stream the track here.
