Up and coming New York based band, Forever Honey, has released their first single ahead of their debut EP, Pre-Mortem High, scheduled to hit the airwaves on April 24th, 2020. Categorizing themselves as “dream-pop,” they truly hit the target on that label. The serene vocals provided by Liv Price (vocals guitar), and accompanied by Aida Mekonnan (guitar, vocals), are rounded out nicely by the support of the drums (Steve Vannelli) and bass (Jack McLoughlin). I’ve had the pleasure of previewing the whole album, and I can say that it’s worth putting on your radar – together, these four musicians definitely take you on a dream-pop journey.

The first single, titled “Christian,” is one of the more upbeat songs on the EP, and was, apparently, also the last song written for the album. Taking a cue from John Hughes films, the music video takes you back to high school prom in the 1980s – where you see the members of Forever Honey performing on stage surrounded by silver tinsel, balloons, and an appropriately placed hand-made sign (because that’s what you did back then). The cast of characters at the dance provide quick and fun little side stories throughout.
